I've been using a cat track, and i've been trying both top and bottom heat. My results have been better with only top heat, but getting my skis flat is difficult. I'm pressing the skis at 45PSI and ramping the heat up to 160 degrees which is what my epoxy calls for. I let the skis cool in the press ...

i've been rabbeting the bases, not even quite as deep as the edge, and I'm still getting convex bases. I was wondering if it has to do with the heat. From my mold up, I have silicone heat blanket, aluminum sheet, cassette with skis inside, silicone blanket, aluminum sheet. At first I was wondering i...

MM, I've been searching the forum to find some answers about getting convex bases. I just pulled a pair from the press, and they were more convex than ever. Ground it out, but there's almost nothing left to the base now. Not the first time this has happened, but I can't seem to pinpoint the exact pr...

New Ski Tuning Shop in Salt Lake

Hey guys, I posted awhile back about offering grinding service in Salt Lake. We're finished building out the shop, and the machines are all hooked up. 7even Skis & Service Center is ready to start working. We will be open to the public in a few weeks, but anyone from Skibuilders Forum is welcome...

Wanted- Binding Tester

I'm looking for a used binding tester. Preferably a Vermont Calibrator. If anyone knows of shops that may have closed business last season, please let me know.
Thanks

did you have any issues with the backflooded Nazdar bonding with the topsheet after the skis were finished? I've tried backflooding with Nazdar ADE and Snowboard catalyst, and it hasn't bonded well to the Duraclear tpu topsheets. The topsheets were corona treated, and I also tried re-flaming without...

Ski Grinding in Salt Lake Area

Hello Skibuilders, I would like to first thank everyone for this awesome forum that has helped me to build skis. I know how difficult it can be to get someone who will grind skis fresh out of the press, and I am setup and ready to go. We have a Wintersteiger Micro 80 stone/belt grinder, and will be ...

Sorry for not posting sooner, I forgot about it for a minute. I did have the material sublimated, and the results are ok, but not super crisp. Digital printing has caused some weakness in the bond this season. Screen printing with Nazdar ink adding the 'snowboard Catalyst' seems to work the best so ...

All of their machines will have an auto feed. I would definitely recommend and auto feed with whatever machine you go with. It will make your life a lot easier when you have your own machine.

I have a Wintersteiger Micro 80 which is a combination belt and stone grinder. It's a great machine with adjustable grinding patterns. I bought mine used directly from Wintersteiger. When they re-sell used machines, they refurbish the entire unit. Mine is 13years old, but it looks and functions like...

I'm having some test printed with sublimation and several different processes of digital printing this week. I'll let you know how it goes. After testing, the bonds are significantly stronger without graphics digitally printed. It hasn't been an issue with the skis I am testing on snow, but if I can...

I was having the same issue for a few tries. I had Troublemaker build me heat blankets, now my topsheets are coming out perfect without any air bubbles. Heat was the answer for me.
