Ohhhh, I thought you were talking about using a die grinder, and it didn't seem like it would make much difference either way.

Makes sense now.

One thing that might help is if you have the ski topside down - so you are looking at the bottom as you trim, it will tend to break the glass away from the edges. If you do the cut with the top up, the blade will work with the edge material to shear it instead of tear it Totally not following what ...

another way is with an oxy-acetylene torch with the O2 turned off. The soot is almost like a carbon thread. We used it doing custom paint effects on cars. I would assume that it would bond as well as carbon fiber, but I'm not sure if it would bleed. It worked ok with clear enamel auto paints Perhap...

Oh, I don't know if you'd actually feel any difference with the rubber on the Langes. And the Recco thing on the Atomics, isn't for tracking. It's for avy "safety" and IMO only good for body recovery.

Get the boot that fits. And well, if you're ordering them that's kinda hard. But those Atomics are for a very wide foot. I have a pair that are a few years older ad they were one of the few boots that fit my wide foot reasonably well. And I can't wear Lange's. The Atomic are decent skis, but... make...

Re: I need skis and boots quickly

I am going to be a ski instructor, but I need to get my own skis/boots to use. I have a nice set of bindings that are Salomon S912 Ti that i am going to use. I am about 165lbs and 5' 10". I have been skiing for about 5-6 years. One of the instructors told me to get medium flex and 158cm or 168...

Tie a piece of string to a magnet, drag it through some sand for 15-20 minutes, beach/playground/etc. This will pick up a fair amount of magnetite, which should work. You might have to "magnetically" filter it a couple of times to get all the sand out. Also very useful for making thermite....

by the way: K2 are not the only one with the combination of inverse and "normal" sidecut on a ski, like it`s designed on the pontoon. i just saw some pictures of an armada ski that has overall an inverse sidecut but in the middlesection the sidecut is normal. Look at the Drake Powderworks...

Thanks Greg, I guess I had a misconception of Demo bindings. I was under the impression that only the heel piece moved (essentially changing the rider’s position on the ski). I guess I will have to look into this a little more as that may be the best option. How much adjustment forward and aft is a...

Cap skis.... yo G-man!

One area where the newer skis have shown some real improvement is in the quality of their flex arc. Skis turn most smoothly, whether on soft or firm snow, as the arc of their flex becomes more circular. Most factory built skis use the cap construction technique, which inherently produces a ski with...
