Shif - thanks for this - sorry I'm am way behind the curve when it comes to being handy at finding solutions to some ski building issues - I am not an engineer by nature and have to work hard at it! My saving grace is that I am a slightly obsessive character with an autodidactic streak and have long...

This one is really for Shif

Can you explain your set up a little more?

I am not quite sure that I understand the detail

Thanks

just as an addendum to this thread

Do powders skis have to be rockered? Or can a good AM profile with early rise tips do the job?

I am more like to be skiing crud, chop and old powder than anything virgin as my time on the slopes is limited.

The ski is going to 112 underfoot

Thanks

rocker

hello everyone I have made skis with camber and early tip rise thus far. I want to make a full rocker pair. In my camber skis I have made the arc about 8mm at it's highest point. For rocker skis do I just reverse this and make the curve 8mm deep or are there other rules? Thanks and any help /advise ...

sodding disaster******!!!!!!

Just pulled my latest pair out of the mould; they were to be a christmas present for someone. The lay up had gone well, I really liked the design. I had tried something new with the top sheet and that all looked good. On de-flashing I realised that I had put one of the bases in the mould back to fro...

absolute definitive answer for the hard of thinking - me!

Before anyone says "do a search" I have but am still unsure about the answer to this question, so please bear with me......as I said hard of thinking. So here goes: If we take an all mountain ski as the example - 132-100 124 Core 2-12-2 when I design the ski I centre the middle of the side...

Rubber up

First, can I say that I am absolutely not enquiring about your bed time preferences but has anyone tried a full rubber top sheet?

Say 1.5mm outside grade neoprene type rubber?

http://www.zai.ch/en/ski/zai-for-franco/

Would it add significantly to the damping (in a good way).

Views welcome

Chris - thanks for the tip re matrix and the triax carbon Ryme - I can get triax glass but I was experimenting with the biax in order to reduce weight by using the uni carbon to act as the longitudinal stiffner. The cores are ash and polar and shouldn't have too much torsional flex - that's the theo...

Morning everyone - PMG, I've just measured my skis. All measurements are from the base The ski is 180, therefore centre is @ 900mm. From that point to the widest point of the tail is 813mm and to the widest point of the nose 720mm. The true centre of the ski (narrowest and thickest part of the core)...

The skis are already made 140-100-122 I didn't mean for the tip to be that wide - I had 135 as my target but somehow cocked it up. The ski is not really designed as a powder slayer - think Rossignol TI100. All mountain, do anything Subaru Impreza group 1 rally ski - crud and chop eater, groomer char...

Hello folks

I want to bump this one to the top again to see if I can provoke an answer

What is the relationship between nose width (in this case 140) and tail width (120)?

I am worried that the disparity is too extreme

Does anyone have a view/experience
