The guy who broke the ski in the picture, got the ski stucked under a tree in the snow, fell forward and the binding did not release. Any other skis would have failed. I suppose carbon stingers resist to compressive and tensile forces from the top and bottom layers. Foam is used only as filling mate...

I mounted the bindings so that the 3-pin line in the middle of the ski, as I do usually. On some skis I mount bindings a 2 or 3 cm on the back, mainly for powder. Do you sand the base yourself? 55 mm is indeed not very much, 70 mm was safer. Did you pre-bent the core? I would like to have my equipment here, and try this basalt... Still snow in the Alps? Got a bit warm in the weeks right? In case, You can send them to me, and I will test them in Seki Onsen (ab...

Zylon does not like light, it deteriorates the mechanical properties... Better keep it in the dark.teleman36 wrote:...the zylon under a natural topsheet looks just like the old Rossi Strato burgundy color...
In addition is not very strong in compression, so it is better to keep the bottom layer only.

Eh, Megawatts have really funny tips. Basically they have flat tips, like the Armada ARG, but the rocker is huge. The other companies make regular tips plus rocker, so the ski is bent twice. There is something I foget to post, since months. They told me that Salomon, and few other small manufactures...

1. A small leak near one tail reduced my vacuum which may have resulted in the slight concave visible on the bases just inward from the tip and tail spacers. Possible solutions might be using a stethascope or plastic tube to listen for leaks. In addition would a pressure guage connected to the far ...
