Twizz, I'm thinking that gketcham is using the set of nippers that I made for him. Can you post a photo of the jaw design on your set so we can all see what design works well? I also use a nipper but I don't think I can make edges made as fast as you do! Maybe I just fuss too much over them? Thanks,...

I can not speak from long term experience with silicone heat blankets in presses, but we do use them for heated repairs on composite aircraft structures under vacuum bags because of their flexible, conformable nature. My rational for not including it in my press was a concern with durability of the ...

My design has the top of the press open like the clam shell style presses. This was to be done with an air/hydraulic piston that is normally used in engine hoist. The gap on the hinge side is able to be adjusted with an eccentric cam (like what you see on a sheet metal brake). The bottom platten is ...

Langzauner presses start at 120,000€ for the manually adjustable press, 180,000€ for the automatic CNC adjustable press. I fully designed my own version of a manually adjustable Langzauner, but before I started building the press I built a autoclave instead. The autoclave also has a fully adjustable...

I've used both 7075-T6 and 2024-T3 in my skis. Both are readily available with their common use in the aviation industry. The best bonding options have both mechanical and chemical bonding. I first abrade the surface, with a quick hit on the 80 grit drum sander. I then acid etch and chromate convers...

Here is the patent application. http://www.google.com/patents/US20140062064 The first method of using a machined out flat steel plate that doubles as the edge seems heavy. The second method of cutting a channel in the ptex for the edge to sit in is not really that new, essentially use the ptex sheet...
