No idea what it take to do something like this but good on you. Good luck! My suggestion would be that when outputting to a cad file it doesn't segment the lines into a million pieces. One smooth arc between a few key points would be ideal I think..

Mine works also. I run it on a Mac. I think it depends on how it is installed. I used to have it so that it needed the web site to open. But all I did was drag the installer over to my applications folder to install it locally. I do notice it takes about a full minute for it to load recently but it...

This is a good way to shoulder your edges, just be careful when starting as the tip is vulnerable - two passes each side and you are done. Placed a piece of mdf on top to hold the tips in the correct position on the second pass. One small slice and then another. http://i742.photobucket.com/albums/x...

after several small-scale tests immediately appear problem how secure core to profiler table I decided it will be cheaper and simpler in the long run just to get vacuum pump from the beginning. Most people use hot glue although I have thought about using a vacuum pump on my profiler as well. Very c...

Hey Richuk - your cassette is a work of art. I have a few questions about your setup. 1) How are you attaching the routed cassette pieces to the bottom sheet of aluminum? I see that you have screwed everything together. Do the screws also go into your bottom mold? 2) What release agent are you using...

Hey guys, i'm in Toronto. You can get supplies locally here for core material, composites & epoxy but not edges and base/sidewall & VDS material. Anyways, look up Canada Composites - haven't ordered from them in a year or so but will be making an epoxy order shortly.

What size of heating pad relative to the cassette?

I am in the process of upgrading my top and bottom molds along with adding a top and bottom heating pad setup. My molds are going to be adjustable by moving the tip and tail sections in and out. Similar to Vinman or Headmonkeys setup. My question relates to the size of the heating pads relative to t...

You can also buy a 4x8 sheet of untreated vertically laminated bamboo. A sheet will get you 4-5 pairs of skis. Avoid treated stuff if you can, its a bitch to sand the clearcoat off. You want vertically laminated. Be careful because sometimes even vertically laminated stuff is cross laminated which w...

UHMW sidewall treatment after profiling?

Just wondering what you guys do to the top and bottom of the sidewall material after planing a core with UHMW sidewalls. My thinking is that the top and bottom of the sidewall may have some bonding/delam issues since they haven't been treated due to the planing process. Is a flame treatment required...
