Its been a while since I've done any board tinkering. I was forced out of my work space and relocated into a more private and secure workshop. Still moving things in and getting setup. Plan is to build a CNC router right there in the middle of things. Psyched! http://www.chrischabot.net/foshopp.jpg ...

The resistance varies depending on the gauge wire you are using. You have to play around with the formulas to see which one will work in your application.

I hate math.

The segmented sidecut is series of straight lines to make a radius curve. Here is an extreme example using the keyboard. \__/ Only 3 lines makes the shape rough, the more lines the smoother it becomes. Think geometry. Libtech magnetraction uses a wavy edge to create multiple contact points. http://w...

I assume that is also where your sidewalls end. Sorry to see it broken. A good reason to try pouring your own sidewalls like some of us do. IMHO the most durable sidewall material you can use, and totally customize-able with dyes/inks. Here is an example of DTrain's split. http://i1150.photobucket.c...

I heard from an insider source that Donek Tools, maker of the drag knife, will be offering a CNC edge bender for sale in the very near future. Price point, ~$5,000 USD.

I'd much rather pay for plans and tinker myself personally...

Thanks for the tips. I used to work on a web printing press, so I am familiar with large spinning machines that can cause injury in the blink of an eye. But thanks for the reality checks and reminders of not becoming complacent. Going to order a 100 zirconia belt, and a 120 ceramic as well as a gall...

Got the grinder hooked up to power today. Everything looks great! I do have a few questions for you guys that have/use belt grinders. I ran these questions by a buddy of mine that used to manage a ski tune shop, but he has been out of the business for 20 years so he wasn't positive. Question 1: What...
