I second MEI, they are very good on their word. They messed up an order of mine and sent me corrected versions for free!

Don't forget my good friends at shopbottools.com This is the CNC that I own and it is great for all sorts of projects, not just skis/snowboards. You can get their new bots (which are AMAZING) for just $6k or so. For me, I could spend more money than time to get things running. It will take a LOT of ...

Sorry I have been lame and late responding... too much time in the shop and not checking here. I can sublimate onto the roll, and I think I am going to be doing it for iggy, but it will be a test run for skis (I make boards).

If this price is rediculous, just make offers, I really have no use for it at this point.

Glossy PBT topsheet material

I purchased 20" wide material for my boards and cut off a 6" wide roll. It is roughly 20m of material. It is slightly melted on the side where I cut it on a bandsaw but it should not affect anything unless you need all 6" of width. I would also be willing to sublimate graphics onto in...

300m orders are required for new runs of material. They still sell off roll ends. New material is $6-7/m, and ends are roughly $2-3.

Seeking ANY glossy topsheet!

I have a full roll of UHMW that I am sublimating on and after getting some fleece bonded PBT I am in LOVE! It looks so much better and more crisp than the UHMW. I cannot seem to find a source of it here in the US, and I really want to keep my suppliers here since my demand varies and is sporatic. An...

Try a local "modern plastics". I know there are some in RI, so maybe there is one in Boston. UHMWPE is good fill too.

Any experienced plastic welders?

I hate the seam between my sidewalls and tip spacers and was thinking about plastic welding them together. Googling the subject reveals little useful info about UHMWPE other than it can be done. Whether this is true with a $40 or $4000 setup is another story. Anyone with experience in this area?

I can offer some help but I have been so busy lately with my own things that I am not sure when I can give you guys a hand (I have had a couple more people ask for work). I will keep you posted if I free up soon. Thanks!

Nice work Mike, looks great! One word of warning though, be careful about temps on the epoxy. I dont know how even you were able to get the heat but you will certainly have issues if parts of the ski cure before others. Any way to get some thermocouples in there? And if you are going to get a CNC, s...

Should be fine. The negative isn't critical.
This is only true if you are only using a hose that covers the entire ski (and you are POSITIVE that it is covering the whole ski). If you have a distribution layer (ie cat track) the negative is extremely critical for even pressure.

AMAZING! Thats really awesome you took the time to do that. The original pics look really defined and has really "sharp" edges. The wax looks much more muted... almost looks like a photoshop filer of sorts.

CDW manufactures here I believe, or maybe they are just a reseller. I have tried a few places for stainless edges and no luck. One place that claimes they make edges for Burton flat out told me they could not make stainless edges. Is there a magic formula that only european companies have?
