Thanks for the share. I had a similar break in a full paulownia core, (snowboard). Right between two reinforced areas. Strangely I have another board with the same lay-up but with veneer, and the veneer has prevented the topside from buckling. So maybe I would not only feather out your binding area ...

So have you had good adhesion and no easy chipping after applying a gloss coat to the texture left behind from peel ply? I guess you are saying yes. I'll have to try this. I've always been afraid to add two part gloss coat to surface left after peel ply without sanding. I hand sand the texture with ...

I understand that they grey film is a bonding agent that helps the adhesion of epoxy to the steel. Like a primer coat. I'm not sure if this makes for a better bond than sanded or sandblasted steel, but perhaps it prevents oxidation prior to laminating the edges in a board. I have always just laminat...

right, like richie said any shim (or leveling) will also have to shim the surface where the clip from the opposing side rests. Alternatively, couldn't you mill or file down one half of each or one clip so that it compensates for the board thickness that doesn't match instead of trying to alter the b...

I've been using a bit of innegra, just patches under the binding areas on splitboards and under the heelside edge. I think it is best used for impact resistance (especially when you are just using carbon) to prevent a rock from really penetrating and getting a good grip on the edge and pulling the e...

Right Vinman, you have to account for the shorter stick being a shorter lever arm so the same stiffness piece does not bend as far into the same radius for a given weight. I reckon for every significant change in length when you get a winner board for a given weight you have a new starting or refere...

I know this is the opposite to what you are asking, but this has helped me figure out flex for different weight riders immensely. When I have a flex that I really like, I set the board in a frame wide enough no not involve the nose and tail, stand on it and measure the deflection. Then for a lighter...

I'd love to buy these board racks but the shipping would be prohibitive. I am sure there are others looking but Michigan location is probably the problem. Maybe you need to load up a big truck and do a tour through Colorado, Utah, Washington and up through BC next winter with all of this great equip...

I like your name and logo! If you were going to do a lot of veneer boards, maybe you would want to press them flat with nylon topsheet first to make a veneer/nylon topsheet then mold later onto the boards. Otherwise, why bother with a nylon top sheet for a snowboard, they don't get as many hits like...
