Hey thanks man. I've got some coming from a local on here to get me by for now. I've also tracked down the manufacturer, and they're available .200 and up in M6 so I should be good to go.

Base inlays are my dded nemesis. Cut the two colours on two separate days (which was dumb but it got late the first night), and set the Z height differently for the two, which meant the profiles were just different enough to not fit without 2 hours of trimming. Frustrating part is I've already made ...

I did a 2000mmx340mm 4kw 220v blanket for sublimation it was $120usd Montucky, why so much juice? I just got a quote on the same size and same price, but now I'm wondering about what wattage to go with. Would prefer to stick to 110 and had been thinking ~2kW would be fine for layups and still run o...

I want to put inserts in for the clips on a split rather than cutting through the base. Core gets real thin in that area. Snowboard materials carries down to 5.5 tall, and need $40 to ship $20 worth of inserts to Canada. I've contacted the manufacturer so we'll see where that goes. A local builder h...

No dice at Miller. May try to make some out of aluminum for the clips. Shorter than ~5.5mm seems to be hard to find.

Ya, that's the urethane going off. Glue is in the picture because I don't clean up after myself.

Ya I thought I'd seen shorter ones there but they're only listing 8mm and 10mm now. Just sent them an email.

Yup. 1:1 glue (weldbond, but probably doesn't matter) and hot water. Painted on two coats and let it dry overnight. Did a small test batch and it mixes almost completely bubble free, so I was skeptical that degassing in a vacuum pot would do much. Everything I've read about that stuff is that moistu...

Weird Room 2015

Got a bit of work done on the first build of the season. Going to try a split this time for my GF. Plan is for an xmas present, so may be a bit slow with the updates. Trying quite a few new things with this one so fingers crossed all around. First try with smooth-on 305 sidewalls. Sealed the channel...

How long are those binding freedom inserts? Is there any difference between those and regular inserts like e-zlok or stuff that fastenal lists for $0.40 a piece? Dtrain I may take you up on that if I can't find anything local. Important part of the question has been answered tho, I've got the core h...

Short inserts

Anyone know where to find inserts shorter than 7mm? Is it not typical to use inserts for the middle clips on splitboards? Or the touring attachment mounting points and heel riser mounts? Any way to add that hardware without drilling holes in the base? Can you mount from the top with screws like ski ...

Re: Quality heat blankets found/cheap!!!!

I would buy two backups for myself If I can find 2 more guys(preferably Canadian) that want 2 each. Let's do this! I'm down if the size makes sense. My press is only 14" wide so 17" wide blanket would be a problem. Ideally I'd be after 14x80 or so and 1.5-2kW. I can work up drawings etc t...

If you put a damp cloth over the tip and tail area of the hardboard overnight it will bend to whatever shape you want and dry smooth and hard again.
