Lend or sell me some 1.7mm edge?

Called CDW to order some 1.7mm edge, but it won't be ready until December.

If anyone is able to sell me some, or even lend it until mid-December, when I can return the same, that would be wonderful.

Thanks!

may not be happening just now. cdw said they couldn't have it done until early December. I'm looking into shipping cost from Metal Deutsch, but I expect its going to be pretty steep. how much are you looking for?

I use a high viscosity mould release, which doesn't leave any bumps or anything like a wax. That is all. I skimcoated during layup, then sanded a bit, but the sanding wasn't really necessary.

Veneer vs plastic?

Has anyone done an analysis of veneer topsheet + clearcoat vs. a typical plastic one, such as the white isosport nylon? Is there any real weight difference? what about environmental impact? In terms of durability I've found the clearcoat wears, which i prefer to chipping/peeling of plastic, but it d...

I've used part-all no. 2 up until the latest pair, when I tried a liquid mold release, which has the viscosity of water. Part-all was fine, but it took a while to rub it on and sometimes left bumpy bits of wax around. The liquid stuff is incredible, as it goes on completely smooth. It also releases ...

hmmm, it might not have fully cured. i'll have to look at my log sheets to see when they were pressed, and hopefully i can figure out how long they sat before being skied. I know some of them were definitely border line, I always just figured the issue would be delam, if it weren't fully cured. I go...

Loss of camber + softening of flex

I'm sure this has been addressed, but searching hasn't yielded great answers. It seems like some people are seeing an immediate difference between mould and ski, when taking them out of the press. My skis come out just fine, but after 5 or so days of hard skiing, have lost a lot of their profile. Th...

Edge Group Buy

Looking to purchase some 1.7mm edges, but don't need 300lbs of the stuff. If anyone else is interested in some, let me know. I'm hoping to get it ordered in the next week or two. Any quantity is cool, you pay shipping. Cost for edges will be same as we pay, not looking to make a profit, just help ou...

Cassette Design

I've had a look through previous topics, but most of what I could find is quite old and doesn't show photos anymore or isn't particularly detailed. I'm looking to use a cassettes with tabs to prevent core shift. I've built two pairs, this way, but neither was perfect. I used spare sidewall material ...

I know this is kinda late, but thought I'd post to say thanks for informing me that they sell Entropy, just under a different name. I'm going to be needing some more epoxy soon, and the entropy stuff I bought 3 years ago is about gone. It was a huge pain getting it shipped then, as even sending it t...

I looked into this for a while, but didn't find anything I was super happy with. DuPont makes a 2 part urethane clear coat that is used by a number of auto finishers. It seemed to have some good properties, but, as with most DuPont products, isn't something that I really want to go near (volatility,...
