Die cut problem

Sorry if this is already discussed, but we did not find clear answer of our questions. Our new board is made with die cut base. We assembled the pieces using paint masking paper tape. After pressing the tape was covered with epoxy. We thought that everything will be ok after grinding… but the grinde...

Thanks for your reply, twizz. Skilab offer also green. It looks really vivid on the pictures, but it is out of stock...

May be, another option for us is to cover transparent ptex with some epoxy based fluorescent paint. Did somebody try something like this?

Nice work, guys. Your pouring sidewals look better and better. We experienced cracked sidewalls on 2 of our boards. The cracks appeared on the tips of both. Reason: Smooth-Cast 3xx is really brittle when it is cold (-10 C). Especially if it meets heavy rocks :D Smooth Cast is plastic. It has Shore h...

Looking for inserts M6 6.5 mm

Are there inserts for more reasonable price somewhere in EU?

Why are they so expensive in the online stores?

MillerStudio sells them for 5$/100 pcs.
In EU the price is ~1$/pcs.

Simple calculation gives me more than 30$ per board just for inserts... :D

Thanks

Thinking about boards. Speaking about boards. Building them every day. Skip eating sometimes. Riding. Dreaming them in the night... - this is real addiction. We just can`t stop! :D We made new board with mixed camber/rocker shape. We added some rocker between the bindings. The result is similar to l...

Re: READ THE FORUM AND STOP ASKING THE SAME OLD QUESTIONS!!!

When I started there were a few thousand posts and it took a while, (quite a while) to get thru them all. Now there are more than 4 times the posts and it's harder than ever to get thru them all. This site is really fast growing. The more the posts, the bigger the mess... It took me 4-5 months to r...

Asymmetric sidecuts

What do you think about the asymmetric shapes, promoted by GNU?

Deeper heel-side sidecut, shorter toe-side contact...

Have anybody here tried something like that?

GNU make theirs shapes with 0.4 m. difference in the sidecuts.

Does it worth a shot or this is just a marketing?

Regarding the base grinder. Don`t be in a hurry. Visit some tuning shops in order to become more familiar with these mashines. Discuss with the guys there, tell them what do you do and what do you expect from the grinder. They will give you some good advices. We found really good tuning shop nearby....

Nice press and nice price as well :D Our advice - make your blankets 1700-1800 Watts at least. Install suitable power controller in order to adjust this value by yourself. Our blankets are ~2000 Watts and they seem to heat not so fast (30 minutes for temp up to 90 celcius degrees), taking into accou...

Oh nice ! What's the difference between the Smooth-Cast 300 serie and the 320 serie ? What product do you use to seal the wood core before pouring the PU ? I tried with one coat of polyurethane varnish with not much sucess (I was using Smooth-Cast 326 and had some bubbling, not much.. but too much)...

It bonds really well. We already profiled 2 cores and everything was ok.

Some pictures of our sidewall...
We use smooth cast 320 - no pressure, no vacuum, just sanded and sealed channel.
