Looking for some fire hose, 8" when flat. I prefer the rubberized stuff. Thanks!

Whoa, now wait a minute. Brett rides for me! Haha, just kidding, how do you know Brett? We used to ride together a lot, and I have not heard from him for a while since I don't think he has a celly out in Tahoe. I am in Wrentham building boards, are you in Boston? Oh, an Hayes Brothers stole Brett's ...

I am pretty sure that Crown does sell some specialty UHMW/PTFE blends.

That is the new name for snowboardmaterials.com, and if you look around, their shipping is typically a bit slow. Lindsay was gone for a while last month so I am sure there is a backlog of orders. Sometimes things are out of stock as well, and the site does not reflect it. You have not been ripped of...

Durasurf will profile large sheets and then prep them, then rip them down into strips. They are overwhelmed right now with the success of this program though, and probably wont do it on too small of a scale.

As for other materials, I know some board companies are using urethane.

Do they have any tips/suggestions for die cutting? I have used a shot press but it moves too slow to get a clean cut. It tends to stretch the material first and then cut, so the resulting shapes don't fit well together. I now have access to a clicker press and it works better, but still, the shapes ...

What is the best way to prep the surface for bonding, and how does Durasurf do it (I have NEVER had a problem with surfaces prepped by Durasurf)?

I have a ton of scrap left over, are there recyclers of the raw material?

Check your yellow pages for a local aluminum supplier... though it is really not cheap. I think I purchased 2 4x8 sheets close to 1/16 and it was roughly $250.

Single units are expensive because of setup time. Since you have been cruising the shopbot site, you might be able to convince someone up there to show you their setup and get a template cut for a 6-pack! I have helped out people here on the east coast, so just ask on their forums. Side note, did yo...

I own an Epson 4000 and can say it is like owning an Audi, a real love/hate relationship. The inks will clog, and you waste a ton cleaning the heads, and the ink is about $1600 for all 8 220mL cartriges. But being able to print graphics in house is GREAT! littleKam is right too that the biggest thin...

ALWAYS overbuild. I blew up 1/2" steel at 50psi, so I would say model at 100psi. I really dont think much over 50psi in necessary (provided you are at a true 50psi on the board).

No dice there, they dont supply anything anymore. The guy there did mention something about a White Mills Products or something like that in Georgia... but I couldn't fing anything. Guess I need to find a local competent sawmill.

Yes, I was talking about Armtex. Its too bad because they were great people to work with! I have seen the snowboardmfg site before but thought it a bit sketchy since it has not been updated since 2004, but I will give them a call. Thanks.

Anyone know of other North American core blank suppliers?

My friends in Quebec no longer operate their wood division, so I am looking for another supplier for core blanks (not profiled). Thanks!

The only thing that the air does is replace the hand pump action. It is just "ratcheting" the same way that you would work the hand pump. It does not exert full pressure until it is under load, but it would be very difficult to measure/repeat accurate pressure calculations.
