Thanks all! i went into the basement last night just to assess the situation... I got fairly sad/pissed off and hobbled back up the stairs. Hopefully after the surgery I'll get back down there and start kicking ass and taking names... BooYa!

Has anyone looked at this video from factory tour: http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=Z3gEkQMeuus#! I really like what he did with the power planner to profile the sidewalls. From the best I can figure he leveled half the feed side with the backside and runs this on the core....

Skidesmond: took them out on Monday. zero issues. MM: the crazy texture is from the router bit with a single pass. I'm sure if I did more than one this would go away. I'll also keep in mid to keep the core thicker in the tip and tail. it looks like most people make the tip 2.2 and do a .7mm rabbet. ...
