just from the look: i bet those skis kick ass in powder. just add a little tapering in tip and tail for the next pair and they`ll ski better than anything else. really sweet rocker, you got the point ;)

i`ve got absolutely no experience with poplar... but why don`t you build a testsection? just take a piece of poplar wood, screw in a screw and try to pull it out and you`ll get a feeling of how much it`s going to hold. or just build the skis as planned, mount the binding, if it holds it`s great, oth...

how do the wooden topsheets hold up? in terms of "topsheet chipping" and other damages due to bashit the sidewalls with the edges of the skis while skiing?

build them flat underfoot and only add a little reverse camber in tip and tail - as the armadas have. maybe 5mm reverse or even more on each side. a little difficult to describe as it depends on the lenght of tip and tail too. of course the stiffness depends on the glass too, but i`d suggest you use...

i use a pneumatic press. there are advantages and disadvantages of it. if you`re fine with vacuum i would keep using vacuum for the beginning. with vacuum it`s easier to change the mold and play around with different sorts of camber and tip/tail radius etc. i just use a pneumatic pressure because i ...
