Why not use snowshoes? Forgive me, I'm not a mountaineer, but 110cm long and 65mm wide seems really small for skinning, and if they won't ever be used downhill why do they need edges? Snowshoes are less efficient and allow you to sink more in the snow. Granted I'm making this comparison to full len...

Techniques for Routing Tip & Tail Molds
I'm curious to find out how you all are routing your tip and tail molds. I searched the forum a bit and mostly what I found was hidden in journals. For those of you who don't CNC your molds, what have you found to be the best way to do it? I started out using the router table but it was problematic ...

I've been using SolidWorks but it can be maddening when dealing with splines so its great to see a new program dedicated to this sort of thing in the works. It would be nice if a rocker profile option would be added. Awesome that your putting so much effort in the program! Also, an option for multip...

Triaxial Carbon Fiberglass?
So I was perusing Voile-USA's website today and I clicked on the Board Tech section for the V-tail splitboard. They are saying they are using triaxial carbon fiberglass. From the picture it looks like the carbon is weaved into the fiberglass. Anybody here ever used the stuff? http://www.voile-usa.co...

I build alpine touring skis. The base is milled with a router jig after pressing and grinding. They work real well on low to moderate slopes but I still need to use skins on steeper terrain. You can click on my web page below to see them. Cool Karmav. My friend was asking me the other day if this c...
