Hmmm, I made a small error. I profiled my cores down to 6.5 mm the same as the last board I made.. But I forgot that my new inserts are 8mm long.. So I decided to get creative. We will see how it goes. I will make up the 1.5 mm by making a 3D core. I have cut out some ply wood, and am laminating it ...

Apart from the crack, it looks pretty acceptable.
I suppose more Pop wouldn't be bad, but I think it looks OK

I started making a core out of Ash, but as I was having trouble cutting straight with the band saw, I decided to get one of the beautiful bamboo cores from the bakery guys. It is stunning!! https://abload.de/img/008workshop-124242orscg.jpg I fed it through the planner. always only in 1 direction. me...

If you are attaching your ski to the mould with an extra piece of base, Isn´t this going to mess up your profile by lifting the ski up at that point??? Maybe I can't understand what you are doing there. I like the look or the hollowed out tip and tail spacers.. Saw that on your plan picture on thhe ...

Here is my non-expert opinion. I think that tortional stiffness is always good, so the more of that the better, particularly for on piste. It is probably not so important in soft snow . The same goes for overall stiffness. On piste a stiffer ski will be better for powering through a turn with even p...

It was realy nice meeting you, and the other ski builders who turned up there. I am going to have to do a huge cleanup and re-organise in my workshop to fit the new babies in. Look forward to using them.

I quite like that idea. I have the same problem that just above the edge, it is difficult to get the cap evenly pressed against the skis / board. I guess that would help... However it is another layer of material that is unique to a ski / board design, and limits your ability to use one form for man...

I don't know if this is a relavent answer, to your line up issues, but I boought one of those laser level things that have a cross to mount things on walls. I mounted it on the ceiling looking straight down. For snowboards / longboards etc it is great. For skis I would need either two, or create a s...
