Just a thought about pliers. If one not doing a full edge all the way to/around the tip and tail and just doing a 3/4, annealing the edges, there is no need for pliers. Just a "light" bend by hand is usually enough. I found it even better than using pliers. I get a much smoother/better fol...

Pro tip: (Just kidding, more of a 10y experience of pressing w. vacuum) Annealing the tip and tail of the edges, pre-bend the tip (and if neceesary the tail) of the edges. Makes life much easier. Especially if there are "steep rise" on tip and tail. Even if the vacuum is strong enough for ...

Now I can do 4 bases (probably more) in one pass and no warping!
Thanks Vin for the tip on this one!

A tip on base warp. Warm your base material with your heat blankets on a flat surface to ~120F for 10-15 min to allow it to relax. Let it cool back to room temp before cutting. Plastics like these have a “thermal memory. Warming them like this takes this out. This was taught to me by a guy (my...

Just showing off. :D So you can see that I'm still active. This year, one new model for the big mountains. I call it "R112"(no picture on it yet). There is a little sister of it, "R102", pictured on the left in the first picture. The other two are the piste machine, "W78&quo...

"It's always something..." :-)
I had the same experience a couple of pairs ago. Forgot to sand the tipspacers properly and didn't flame treat. After "redoing" that part everything was good again. I think you will be good! Happy travel and skiing.

Ash is my favorite. I like to think it's improving the the grip on ice. :D I know it's mental, but anyway... I've started to look into using plastic as sidewalls. Mainly for design reasons. Getting another color scheme. Immediate problem for me is that if just want regular ABS it only comes in black...

Anneal then using the "Edge brush 3000". No solvent on my material before layup! My de-lams (there has been a few I have to admit..) has never been on the edge/base side. When using vacuum, anneal and pre bending is a good rule of thumb. I think sammer agree. :-) https://farm2.staticflickr...
