ISO clear topsheet
Does anyone have some clear topsheet they would sell. I need maybe 20-40 meters to get me through this build season.

Re: Eliminating base warp....a guide.
As an update to this. I have learned what I’m sure others may already have figured out. I can control the base shape with edge tension. If I use the finished core with sidewalls as a template I can clamp the base to this to help it main Shape or as I apply an edge. As long as I can see sidewall on e...

Re: ICP 8210 Bonding Issues
I flame the clear topsheet before layup. No issues. Use plenty of epoxy, more than you think you’d need and take the time to push air bubbles out towards the edge of the layup.

Re: Designing Multi -Radius Sidecut AutoCAD/Fusion 360
When you connect the arcs, try selecting them and using the tangent constraint command. I think that should glen the arc together so thy are smooth at the junctions.

Re: 22 oz vs 19 oz vs added core thickness
Keep the core the same and add the 22oz glass. It will be a bit stiffer. Plus you’ll get a sense of how much difference it will make for your future builds.

Eliminating base warp....a guide.
Short story is I’ve been building skis for a decade now. Over the years I’ve had issues with base warp. Much of which was solved early on. However intermittently this creeps back in. Below you’ll see what I’ve done to solve this issue in my process. This info is scattered about in the text of this s...

Re: Pre-treating paulownia or balsa core
After layup maybe 10 pair with paulownia stingers, I don’t really feel that pre-treatment is necessary. If the paulownia soaks up some resin, I don’t the ink that would be bad since it is so soft. The resin will toughen the paulownia. If you are doing a full paulownia core with only a hardwood Mount...

Re: Budget vacuum pump suggestion
I've got a vac system I'll sell you for $150. I'll have to go look at what parts I have but there is almost everything there to set up a press system. PM me if you are interested.

Re: Scrap Ski Base Material
I don't have a great use for scrap base, I'm actually looking for a way to recycle it. My normal recycling center won't take it because its in strips which jams their machines.
I'd like to shred it somehow.....I need an industrial paper shredder....

Re: Camber Issues
MY first thought would be some kind of irregularity in your molds. If your molds are routed by hand from a template. I'd guess you don't have a consistent arc on your camber.

Re: Which fiber is best at retaining screws
Don't relay on fiber hiding your screws in. Place dense hardwood under your acres and you can have confidence in your screw retention. That being said. I have never tested different fibers for screw retention. I normally use a triax glass layer and an extra layer of biax under the mounting zone. To ...

Re: Jonrezz’s Build Log
When edging bases, lay the base so the abraded/ bonding side is down . Lift the base to apply the glue and then clamp. This way you can see if there are any gaps between the base and the edge.

Re: Skis... with a TWIST!
Any twist I’ve seen is from wonky handmade molds. Once all of my tip/tail and camber were cut on the cnc any slight twist was eliminated.
