Thats' fab shif but the big boys and boutique guys press higher and route the core to fit the overhang of the edge tangs.
Do your skis weigh slightly over 8 lbs per pair if so keep doin' what yer doin'.

I have made only one ski so far. 138mm at the waist and 2.5 mm tip continual grade to about 10.5 and the 3mm in the tail. I don't see your logic. Its more about set time than it is strength and weakness. I figure you think it will be weaker so you want to leave more epoxy in the ski and not sqeeze it out? Apparently you did not understand. I welded the edges on a wood template not attached to the base. I then transferred my welded edge setup to my base cold. Worked great.
