@skidesmond yeah, it was extremely frustrating dealing with the electric company, but fortunately for us that blog post found it's way to Consumers Energy customer service and we had electricity the following Tuesday (post went up on a Friday). It's pretty amazing how it circled and we even had thei...

New Shop

So i the past month and a half we've undergone the joys of moving our shop 230 miles north to Boyne City, MI and it has been one hell of a ride. We've had tons of issues with our new building from getting electricity re-connected ( http://sccskis.com/2011/07/problems-with-electricity-at-the-factory/...

It is a thick rubber sheet (5/16" I think). We use it to make sure there are no ripples in the topsheet, it's pretty tough stuff but the little bit of give keeps everything nice and smooth while maintaining quite even pressure.

ISOSPORT does their PBT and Nylon/Polyamide with a felt backing. Also SOCREP in France has a felt backed topsheet. http://www.socrep.com/ang/products/ski/index.html# Chad at Coda does some really good work sublimating. As far as using Crown's topsheet, its registration really doesn't come out very w...

Want your skis made in China?

So a few months ago I received an email from Rita Su, apparently they want to manufacture our skis for us. They say OEM is "warmly welcome." Thought this was pretty funny. http://www.hasiky.com/cn/company.htm And I'm going to try to put some new pics of the shop and skis up soon, just have...

Those older Montana's are beasts, built out of 1/4" plate. They are (at least ours are) 220v 3 phase and the motors won't start without 3 phase service or a converter. Check craigslist for converters, some pretty good deals out there now.

Get it, you won't be disappointed.

I meant if you have your running length built like this:

But it looks like your mold is solid, so it won't be a problem.

As long as your gaps underneath the mdf sheet aren't to large I think it should be fine. We use 1-2 (1/2") sheets for each model depending on the camber/rocker profile. Each of our 6 mid-sections has seen 20-50 pair of skis and they are as flat as when they were new. Disclaimer: Have 2" mi...

The cloth is printed by a friend that does mostly flags. Unfortunately it cannot easily be done at home without a very expensive $$$$ printer or a set of screens.

The graphics are printed on cloth, the difference in color is different types of woods.

Thanks for the compliments.
