You may want to consider their Brazilian Redwood decking rather than Ipe.
Brazilian Redwood = Massaranduba
I've used both and prefer the Massa because it seems to have straighter and tighter grain. Plus I like the reddish hue, but it turns dull grey overtime.

Started looking for Ipe, but it seems pretty tough to find in Colorado without buying a 1x6 decking board? Anybody no where I can get something thinner? 1x6 decking board is exactly what you want. actual measure is 3/4" x 5-1/2" Rip it into sidewall blocks. Thin strips come off perfectly ...

...How ae you doing your full edge wrap? Vin, My full edge wrap is done using two pieces of edge with a butt joint at each end of the ski. Other than that, our methods are quite similar. Your one-piece full wrap looks like it takes alot of effort. I just read through your entire blog and I'm very i...

...Shif you must weight 300lbs... MM Close, about 230lbs :) We like a stiffer ski than the typical rocker-powder variety. Not using 22 oz triaxial FG, we're using 19 oz. Some carbon-uni top and bottom gives them plenty of pop too. Our skis are not super stiff GS sticks, not even close, they flex mo...

SHIF, care to share where you are finding your sidewall material? I haven't found any locally yet but would like to try some ipe out. I see you are in the Wasatch. I thought you were in Cali? Massaranduba purchased in San Jose, California at "The Decking Superstore" although I don't see i...

How about neither of these plastic materials for sidewalls? I gave up on UHMW a long time ago; can't get reliable bonds and it’s heavy. I now only use Amazon rainforest hardwoods for sidewalls, specifically Ipe and Massaranduba. This wood bonds perfectly and looks great. It does not absorb moisture ...

Watch this great video, about one minute in you can see an excellent router bridge set-up. This is about the best router bridge I've seen, I especially like the vacuum table and roundway guides.

I can affirm this exact combination of Resin Research products. Works perfectly for ski building in my heated press. Holds up very well on the mountain, so far I don't notice any difference in the durability compaired with QCM epoxy.

Those are some beefy sidewalls, are you using a straight core and then shaping you ski by cutting away sidewall? I like the idea with wood block in front. I may try that was well. Thanks No sir Vinman, I cut the sidecut shape into the core prior to attaching the sidewall blocks. Then I taper both e...

...I really don't want to go to a longer work time epoxy because of the elevated cure temps. Epoxy pot life is not proprotional to cure temperature but rather determined by the particular chemistry. You should use a heated press to achieve maximum strength from any epoxy system. Post-cure cooking i...

I have the 13" Delta planer but purchase the 12.5" knives that are made for that smaller machine, they fit fine and are half the price (go figure). I shop on ePay and sometimes buy knives labeled Porter Cable, same darn thing. I can get a full pair of bamboo ski cores shaped using one edge...

RR Composite Pro system epoxy is lower viscosity than QCM and it truly wets-out the fabric quicker. Not twice as fast, but noticably faster. The resin and hardener are both watery enough to use a hand pump if you want to. Here is a quick review i posted on another thread: http://www.skibuilders.com/...
