Thanks Guys! Paint would be the easiest and pretty inexpensive too. I will be doing the dye for the top layer of glass to help bring out more color in my topsheets (Cotton). RA recent skis which show the base issue: http://i170.photobucket.com/albums/u242/rockaukum/IMG_0350.jpg http://i170.photobuck...

Thanks for the information! I did a little looking around on the net and found this article from West Systems about adding dye and how it effects the epoxy strength. http://www.westsystem.com/ss/adding-pigments-to-epoxy/ Twizz, makes sense about edges showing through. What is your process of flood c...

Hey nice job! Did you just router a groove into the base or did you router it with a bevel? Steep edge on the front with a taper to the rear? This is how I did mine and it works well. One issue that I have is where you remove the base material, it leaves it very coarse (?) and kinda difficult to get...

DD, Thanks for the words. My son could not decide on graphics so i did it for him. The bases are lime green and blue. Kinda mix and match but he likes them all the same. That outfit would get me lost for sure! Huck, nice vid and the area looks great for a nice tour. Have not gotten out much due to t...

Here are some pic of the shim set up that I did on my router. There are three screws that hold the plastic foot onto the router base. I loosten them and insert a shim between the base and the plastic foot and tighten the screws. Now the base is at an angle to the bit. Place a guide across the skis a...

Just checked back in and saw a question about how I locate the core... I use something called a standoff found in Grangers catalog. It is used for circuit boards and come in various sizes. I hot glue them to the ski and drill the core. I place two per ski or board one in front of and one behind the ...
