IMO 1/2" is too large. I have 1/4" holes in a 1"x1" pattern and it's OK. If you can, try to locate your hole pattern precisely in the machine coordinates (that means having home switches), that way you can re-use the holes from the pattern to use them with locating pins..., very ...

Check the axis direction, the axis "ratio" : how much the stepper has to turn to move the axis 1 distance unit. Use the "display mode" button in the upper right corner, just below the toolpath preview, with soft limits activated it will show you your toolpath + the table limits (...

do you know where you are in machine coordinates ? My first answer would be you're only "zeroing" in work coordinates so in the machine coordinates you're not within the soft limits... hence the message. Pretty sure if you de-activate the soft limits it's gonna work, but if you have an err...

well, actually the "flat" plywood (or MDF) I'm refering to is cambered... Just to explain my setup, here's a picture of my press (it has slightly changed since the photo was taken, but the principle remains the same) : - I have a "camber block" on the bottom, made from MDF ribs, ...

For what it's worth : I now try not to use flat MDF anymore for the flat between the tip and tail molds. After a few pairs of skis are pressed I found out the MDF compresses under the action of humidity, pressure and temperature, leading to non-flat bases in this area. With a flat edge you could cle...

When I have my tip and tail molds done in CNC(outsourced.. :) ) they are done, spread out, on a full MDF. Only that they are not cut all the way thru leaving 2mm for me to cut out with a jigsaw and finish it with a table router(a shaper that is in my case). Perfect fit! Every time! :D Same here, ex...

4 air cylinders - SOLD

Bought 8 of them because that's what the package was.. I only need 4 on my press. They're used to pre-conform the cassette against the mold in the tips areas before you inflate the bladder. 20mm diameter, 150mm stroke. This includes 4 matching fittings, meaning you'll need 4 more if you want to actu...

Guess I'm not going to go with them the smallest amount they sell is 5 gallons. So smooth on people how are the sidewalls holding up from this unusually cold winter? My sidewalls held up OK (PCM790 rubber from Smooth-On) this winter even though Smooth on advised me against using this product at tem...

Since those pictures / reports I upgraded my dust collector to a 2.5 HP.. what a difference ! The brush was already always sitting lower than the material surface + the brush strip is doubled around the DC hose on the dust shoe, no problem with that anymore, all the dust and chips are collected (wel...
