Feldybikes, I ski tele and mount the pin hole for the boots on the cord center as per the hammerhead instructions for a regular pair of skis. CC by 22desings is determined by measuring the length of the ski and divide in half. If the ski has a long flipped up tail divide the distance from the end of...

That's it, I add a layer of 4 oz glass to the top to give the silk some protection and help with the layup some when I do the fill coat. I have less chance of hitting the silk as I sand it smooth. Now that I can get colored texalium I can create some color shifts too, which can be pretty cool. Hafte

http://www.skibuilders.com/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=759&highlight=epoxy Here is a discussion about that. I have actually cut my use down to ~54oz. by weight (~1.55 kg) for a pair about that size. And I should mention that I vacuum bag and the epoxy I use is water thin so it wets everything out eve...

OK I saw this and felt I needed to point out a few things. I do not want to start a debate on what is best just point out a couple of things I have learned. Yes, at elevation you will see a decrease in achievable vacuum. I live at ~4500 above sea level. The pro’s where I work can pull 25 HG on a goo...

One thing to check is the oil level in the pump. The manual I have read through say that too much oil can cause that to happen.

I just bought one like this. http://www.jbind.com/tools/userfiles/file/Platinum%20pump%20instructions.pdf Is that what you are looking at? ( I can’t see Ebay form work) They are for removing water from the A/C systems, at least that’s what the literature talks about. I found mine at a local pawn sho...

how do you get the tilting table style to work, when the ski/board is a few mm wider at the tips than in the waist? seems to me you'd have to hinge it somewhat behind the center of the hole to allow the tips to run off and not get stopped by the flat part of the table. Yes, I do have to push the bl...

Here are some pictures of my fence setup. Here is the fence in place and ready to use. Note its not clamped in place to the table. http://www.skibuilders.com/cpg/albums/userpics/10023/thumb_fence5.JPG Here are a couple of shots showing the edge riding the guide block. This is how I set up the tool f...

Hi, Davide is right you don't need to use a heat sorce unless like me you do most of your layups in the fall. I use a couple of small space heaters and a large box as a makeshift oven. The epoxies I use also like a heated post cure of ~120 Deg F for several hours. For the post cure I kick on the hea...

I made the deck out of 3/4" MDF and coated that with triax glass and epoxy. Its way cheaper than formica (at least the stuff I see at home depot), but does take a bit more work to seal and get flat for use. I made tip parts seperate form the running length. That allows me to change the center b...

I have made a guide fence and use a four flute end mill that seems to do a nice job. The setup is similar to one I believe I saw on this site. I use a wood guide bock instead of a bearing for the edges to follow. I think I have a couple of pictures that I can post. when I get home if folk are intere...

Grizzly Adams, sorry we missed you. We made a couple of runs. One on the course and another from the top of the ridge. I did get your message, but not until we got down. I left the phone in the car. All in all we had a good time. Did you hear your time? I came down in the first 25 or so racer...
