Re: side wall delamination

Ur prolly gonna have to give more details.
How did u profile?
Planer crib?
Did u leave it longer for snipe?
Router jig?
Did u glue it down?
Overhead sander?

Maybe u wanna use pu glue?
Maybe u wanna prebond ur sidewall to wood and rip and stick to core?
Maybe u should read the forum?

Re: Doing things on the cheap

Well literally every builder who does not have machined cassettes pre bonds edges with ca glue. That's allot of companies. So there's that. Watch a never summer vid. Excess usage of ca could create a bonding issue. U should do some sample coupons and lay them up with different types and amounts of g...

Re: Doing things on the cheap

I see um. Rabbet before you profile. Masking tape works to attache tip and tail spacer and bonds surprisingly well. Ur epoxy pot life is literally the time in mass in a pot and will exothermically kick in mass not when its all skimmed out on the board. Any epoxy mixed correctly will eventually cure ...

Re: profiling cores

I think people have had luck with the helical style planer blades rather than straight blades.
They are much more expensive but worth it in the long run.
An overhead sander is more ideal.
Make the core longer than need to account for snipe.
Hot glue.
Spacer at the ends.
U can do it!

Thanks for the post.

What's your total weight?
I found the innegra/carbon weave to be both bulky and a resin sponge in wet layup.
I'm also concerned that the innegra is a polypropylene and is one of the most difficult materials to laminate.

I personally think doing this both ways several times the tilt router laminate trimmer is the way to go. You can start with low angle and do a couple passes while increasing the angle. Its much more finesse but easier IMO. Yes flat to base is key otherwise gets chunky. Spend $60-$100 or more its wor...

Sean is an awesome guy and incredibly helpful. I use his custom macro spreadsheet because i have a shopbot to impart the cornering functions. I had to use a different offset for my d1 than what was specified. As he says its machine specific. Tool path direction helps allot with laying the blade down...
