If you own a big shop air system you can use the venturi systems as well. Have one and im very pleased. But, depends on your air source. If its too small i would go for a electric vaccuum pump too

Use thicker L-profile (see below), grade 8 bolts and maybe silicone between L-profile and hose. I assume the nylon is quite slippery so the silicone or something similar will help against pullout. Nothing will move anymore (hopefully). And btw. use washers ;) Check if the L-profile warps when you sc...

The dowel pin method works quite well with good accuracy if the hole and pin are a tight fit. But even with schablone every time i have to fiddle with the glueing of the pins (except the first time, then it was working perfectly and smooth). One time i tried to make life more easy and drilled the ho...

Try some sidewall abs and route it out as you need.

For Alu ... depends on the alu u use (weight) .. i know a lot of skis with it and no bonding problems. But it may be more heavy, did never compare it

Just was wondering because somebody here mentioned the influence of the abs sidewall width on the flex

Yep, thats it. In the sizes we need not so cheap, for sure :) I think we work with pretty flat materials (base / topsheet) so it should work when pressed between two plates. And you shouldnt get so much problems with the upper alu. Imho you need to heat just the transfer paper and a little bit of th...
