I have been using snowcad to generate the dxf then importing it to draftsight. I just cant seem to figure how to select just the portion i want move. I would love some advice. As far as the drag knife. All i do is a standard profile cut out with a tool diameter of nothing. I dont do anything else sp...

Cornice skis 13/14

It is almost 2014 and i yet to build a pair of skis for the season!!! Like usual i have been working on airplanes all summer and little bit of ski tooling. The CNC is a way bigger project and learning curve then i could have imagined. When i purchased this old shopbot i upgraded it with a G540 so i ...

My bungee cords will not deflate my hose either and i did not feel like getting more springs soo... i use a shop vac to suck all the air out after i disconnect my air hose. You could also get an air ejector valve but the shop vac works sweet!! The vac will suck them things flat.

Sweet press! How in the world did you bend those sweet square straps for the end? Looks like you had a CNC before the ski project... seems most start ski building then get one after. It never occurred to me that i could even use a wireless keyboard with my CNC. Thats going to solve lots of problems ...

My old PR shopbot is one sloppy jalopy beast. It is probably the most pieced together CNC router being used on this site. You guys have some nice equipment!! The PR machines axis run tracks called uni-strut. Its this stuff you get from the hardware store to mount whatever on. Anyways my point is i w...

I agree with that Russian guy. I did not have any 220 outlets or anything but it only took a new breaker, some wire and an outlet. Less then an hour. I did not have to run wire very far but if you can re-wire a motor you can prob get 220 goin.

Why dont you mount a torch on the CNC. Mach has a torch on off function. Now that i think about it a computer controlled flame thrower on a saw dust covered machine might not be the best idea.

I hope to try this out by the end of the week. My ShopBot is now running Gecko540 with Mach3 so it wont be any help there.
COOL!!!

How about 3/16 slices? This would be time consuming. Chouinard Toute Neige.

Wooo those look great! I especially like the look with the telly bindings. Congrats!
Try stapling the tip and tail spacers on the very edge to the side will. You would be surprised how well a little swingline stapler solves that problem.

Made a really terrible video with even worse music but still fun. The first ride on my second pair of skis was AMAZING. They are soo much fun on a big open powder run like this. Pretty funny that nothing can turn out right on a ski and they are still a dream ride. I also spend allot of time looking ...

Trying to figure out where i went wrong with these skis... Pressed with a flat camber mold i got about 6mm of camber with the skis together. I also lost about 15mm of rocker in the tip. They still skied great in the pow... turned out allot like my old line prophet 130. It had to be too much heat fro...

Ok hows this for an idea.... I just saw a wood flooring sander for sale. They run on 220v usually and are pretty wide. They make belt and drum versions. Maybe some wet dry sand paper and some lube system you could have yourself a base grinder. Mount it upside down of course or maybe just drive the d...

Think of masking tape like this... Its only as strong as the sticky stuff on it.
Glue usually will not penetrate under the sticky side so your bond here is only as strong as the tape.
