I was always taught not to wear gloves when using tools like this. The glove usually has the effect to pull your hands and fingers more into the tool rather then protect it. Lucky dude!

First pair are at a local ski shop getting a grind. I have read others experience with taking their "homemade" skis to a ski shop for a grind. They were not met with any kind of enthusiastic response. In fact i should have just tried somewhere else but there are not many options. Dude comp...

shif- I was hoping to get some reverse camber with the deferential heat. I pressed with a flat base mold except for a 3mm shim on the tip radius tapering off into the base. At its maximum i probably got 2mm of reverse camber measuring between the two skis. TAIL https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-Y64...

SHIF those are some tight fitting edges!

It would be kinda cool to weld the edge together. I have a TIG welder maybe i could make a truly one piece edge with no gaps.

Four piece edge

Looking at a set of skis my buddy just got. Atomic Automatics. They used a single piece around the tip, second piece around the tail and the two side pieces. The edges come together in the usual spot if you were doing partial edges. Is this new? Oh and what the heck i cant even go look at a pair of ...

My idea was to have pads long enough to press some speed skis for Arctic man. I doubt i will ever build anything like that. I would rather have 78" pads. Much more appropriate to what i am going to build.

Use 240V it requires way less amperage. Amperage will depend on the size of your blankets. My blankets are 14"x85" in size. They are 240Volts rated at 2083 watts. Sooo... 2083w/240v= 8.68 amps. I just ran my 240v off my dryer breaker since i have a gas dryer. You also may have a 240v range...

Wow that makes sense. One base is perfectly to shape of the template and the test ski. The other warped one i let sit for a week before i put edges on. I tried to remove the edges but they are glued on amazingly well. Looking at the other base i cut about a month ago i see its all wacky wavy tube ma...
