I buy dyesub printed PBT top sheets from Chad at Coda Boards. They have proven to have excellent durability and color retention. http://codaboards.com/topsheets.php Be sure to allow for material shrinkage when designing your graphics. I order the 193 cm top sheets and typically get 189 cm usable gra...

I’ve been using vertically laminated bamboo flooring, 6 foot long planks, about 88mm wide after removing the tongue and groove features. Adding poplar to the sides to make it wide enough for powder skis. Then after cutting in the sidecut radius I attach Ipe (or other rainforest hardwood) for sidew...

First pair were way too soft, not worthy of mounting bindings. More of a process test run. They didn't have sidewalls, the core shifted a bit, the top sheet was mis-aligned. Second pair were way too stiff, not worthy of mounting bindings. Fixed the shifting and alignment issues. Started adding sidew...

Two new pairs for the 2016-17 ski season Same ski shapes and camber/rocker profiles as the past couple seasons. Powder skis on the left and all mountain carvers on the right. Specs are listed in prior year's builds. Got some Look Pivot bindings this year, should work well on the powder skis. Mounte...

I built one using a PID controller, SSR, and power entry module having a switch and fuses. All parts sourced on eBay. If you can't do this maybe you should consider commercial temperature process controllers such as those shown in this link: http://www.omega.com/subsection/benchtop-wallmount-control...

I used UHMW-PE strips for sidewalls back in my early days of ski building. Maybe I didn’t prep it well enough but I always had some delams above the ski edges on the tails. After switching to Ipe hardwood for sidewalls I’ve not experienced delaminations of any kind. I’ve used other species of wood t...

I anneal steel edges before trying to make tight bends for doing a full-wrap. After marking them with a Sharpie so I know exactly where to start the process, I lay them out on fire bricks and use MAPP gas to get them glowing bright orange. MAPP gas is significantly hotter than propane so the job goe...

Gilo, I can’t really add much more to the detailed description in my post dated July 23, 2015. I can say the red colored plate to which my router is mounted is just a scrap of aluminum about 10 mm thick that is clamped to my table saw with a box under the plate to elevate it. This set-up is very rig...

I've always used Nvidia Quadro graphics in my workstations, both desktop and laptop. They were the first to have certified drivers for SolidWorks, but I think AMD has caught up lately.

yeah, using solidworks. i made a few solid models different ways and then even used the sheetmetal feature to make a flat pattern. weird thing with the sheet metal flat was that when flattened i lost some of the smooth curve geometry for the top view profile. bummer. using CAD was pretty helpful in...

Hey Motoman, that's a killer graphic. How did you create it? -S Sorry for that guys. I mean if we took somebody idea. We use it to check the quality of sublimation printing. We would like to see the depth of colors on that material. No you didn't take anyone's ideas on this graphic. I've seen simil...
