I had very good luck with durability when I was doing wood sidewall with a nice coat of entropy resin as a finish. It held up quite well and if it ever get really mashed by edges you could always just sand it and do some touch up work. I had success with it. Maybe give that a shot? I found entropy t...

I like the vinyl. Even on the larger block letters. I have a few shirts now that are a couple years old and the print still looks new because it won't fade like cheap screen prints eventually will. I use the stretch vinyl (typically used on workout clothing) because it feels/breaths better and is le...

I've got the web nerd side of things covered fortunately. I like word press because it makes pulling in media from other outlets easier. I thought about writing a couple plugins for shopify to do the same so that i could ditch word press all together. I just don't have the time for it at the moment....

Nice shop Doug! I'm making some small changes to my website right now, then i'll be making adjustments to the store soon. I still use wordpress as the framework for my main site, then shoot people over to the store to purchase. That might change though and I might just start using the shopify framew...

Sounds like it's more of a bonding issue. I've done a few pair with varying length sidewall segments attached (pairs for myself when material was low or for prototyping). Never had an issue. Did you abrade and flame treat everything?

I say just do up the SSR and PID. It's nice to just turn it on and walk away. Before I had my PID straightened out I used to sit there and turn the physical switches on and off. That get's old real quick. Once I figured out the controller my temps don't go more then plus or mins 2 deg F and it's at ...

Yea Doug that's the roughing pass. I found a 4 Flute carbide endmill (currently an upcut) works real well. Especially for Bamboo. Hardwood not so much but the 4 flute does cut through plastic better then the double I've found. Chris gave me the idea for the tape. Works awesome. I was using scraps bu...

More holes in the tip/tail area. Dismantle the shopvac and hook up the hose directly to the motor. Only profile your core where your actual ski shape will be and leave the rest as is. Then cut off the flash with a jigsaw. That's how I do it. Never had a core lift off the machine. Mind you, I have a...

Looks to me shop vacuums produce only so much suction. Couple of vacuums connected to the table can compensate for air going through but do not necessarily increase suction. Do you put double-faced tape around perimetor of the ski or only at the tips? Only at the tips. You are correct though, a sho...

I do. I just packing wrap (the syran wrap stuff but for packing) and make a triangle shaped box. Tape and boom. I'm going to start buying flats of cardboard from U-Line and cut it myself on the CNC. Cheaper then having someone else custom make boxes.

I know this is late but ship direct from a UPS sort center is the cheapest. Skip the middle man if you can. Any of the shipping or ups ship stores charge an arm and a leg. I can typically ship a set of skis for no more then $35 insured for $600 to the middle of the US. Up and down the east coast is ...

I LOVE those topsheets Chris, nice work as always! Are the brown parts going to show through some actual wood, or is that all part of the printed graphic? So badass. go merica! Thanks twizz! Unfortunately no show through on this. To make it look nice I'd have to laminate a veneer to the topsheet. T...
