My gut is telling me that there won't be significant springback with 0.6mm ali, I'm swaying towards differential expansion of the top and btm layers or ali. My thinking behind this? With only 30mins cure time, the heat will not have permeated through the base at the same speed as the topsheet. Might...

The kids learning to ski
I thought I'd share this, I don't usually do the proud dad showing off thing but the kids did so well this weekend on their second ski lesson I couldn't contain myself! 4 & 5, they even went up the button lift by themselves! https://farm2.staticflickr.com/1684/25152974234_3b42f2e8fb.jpg https://...

Re: You
Thank you for reply. The I-beams are so massive and big that they can not deflect. The press weight more than 800 kg (1700 pounds). Greetings. Deflection and buckling are two very different things. I think knightsofnii is meaning local buckling of the C-section column webs at the points where you h...

heke, that's similar to the pump I have. Overall I would consider them OK, I have run it continuously for 24hrs without issue. You can tell if you get a leak as the pump tone changes. It is quite quiet when running, mine came with a thick foam mat for noise isolation which helped considerably. You d...

I've been guided towards the AMD W5100 and the NVIDIA GTX970 cards, the AMD is a certified workstation card but the other is a gaming card which gives me a little apprehension. according to autodesk it now runs on directX-11 and shader 5.0 and have been told this is what the gaming cards run on so t...

Completely OT but CAD graphics card thoughts?
Being a Structural Engineer I'm pretty graphics heavy on the graphics cards, so the time has come to upgrade the graphics card on my workstation. I know there are a few people who use 3D modelling on here so maybe I can tap the grey matter? I've currently got an AMD Firepro V5700 which has been grea...

Re: Vinyl tape printing
Hi, a little concerned about my topsheet printing. I have no white inks and I really need them. I would like to print on some white thin film. I have heard about vinyl film but have never printed on it and the only one I have found on the market is called Oracal. Probably it is just a brand name. O...

Durepox clear 2k polyurethane topcoat. It's a special marine finish. Flexible, durable, only downside really is that it's reasonably expensive and you need a proper spray booth and protective equipment etc to use it. You may be able to apply it by brush so that would get past a lot of the issues. I ...
