Nylon seems the best top for no chipping. PBT chips like a mo fo.

Hey Guys - Can anyone shed some insight on what you are doing for toolpaths specific for profiling? I have founds some solutions using vectric software but im not happy with the solution and would like to see if there are other easier solutions on there.

Lots of success with IPE.. No issues at all other than its tough on the blades.

That said, we are going to try UMHW this season but are considering changing the way we do things.

It bet railway ties would work as long as you could get enough and they had a flat section that could be used to make the cavity section of the press.. You would need some c channel or something welded to keep it in place.

I talked to a sales rep and for this application he recommended LOCTITE U05FL which should be able to withstand the heat of the press, is super strong and should be flexible enough to bounce back flat..

Some have used metal in a ski/board layup using VDS to help the bonding between metal and other material. What about abrading the metal surface, lay down a little bit of epoxy, then VDS, epoxy, and then another piece of abrade metal. Then press it until the epoxy sets. Just an idea... Never conside...

Hey Guys, We are considering making a '3d' cassette for a few of our shapes and have a few questions about what others have done. Where we are looking for help on comes down to the construction of the cassette - we are currently doing a flat layup and would prefer to keep things this way if possible...

In the past I have had the luxury of extra wide sidewalls on my cores so I could easily tape the core to the tip and tail spacer without the chance of the tape ending up in the ski.
