i tried to post my ski build story but as i have learned i need to post a bit first to include pictures, so you will all have to wait for a little for that story. for now i will talk about how they skied the first time i go them out.

the skis were dimensioned 140-105-140 ish and have a solid maple core that is 2.5-10.5-2.5. i put two layers of rather heavy glass weave top and bottom and used fiber glass matt for tip spacers.

they skied way better than i could have dreamed. turnier than any twin tip i have ever riden and rocket ship fast. it is the end of our season on the east coast of canada so i got mostly ice and hard snow but these skis bit in to anything and didnt let go.

i have to say i am pretty proud of myself for making something like this and i cant wait to make more skis.

i would add pictures but again with the spam protection( no objections to that just a little disappointed)

Congrats! Now you're in the "zone"! Be prepared that you won't think of anything else than ski building for awhile!... :D

I've built three pairs with almost the same specs. as yours. Varying the amount of FG. My red ones, with only one layer over and under the core, came out just perfect. And I've skied them on the same conditions you describe.
The black one, I added a layer of FG and the core is identical, are close to "dead". No life in them at all. FYI

Build on!
