Announcement: workshop on home-made skis

Post by davide »

Now it is official:

------------------
HOME-MADE SKI WORKSHOP
You come to Livigno for the "Skieda" (form the 1st to the 8th of April), you spend the day skiing, do some work in the lab, and in the evening it is patytime. After 3/4 days you go back home with your own self-made skis.
It will probably cost between 150 and 200euros, materials, gloves, protections and everything else included.
To get a taste of what it will look(s) like, you can check out http://forum.livignofreeheel.it/viewtopic.php?t=7 (in Italian at the moment).

Huf...
After a week I have found 5 minutes.

So far, we pressed already about 15 pairs, and in the afternoon we will do the last 4. Made super sidecut skis (12m radius), reverse sidecut, super fat skis, straight skis, reverse camber skis; used glass and carbon.
We had up to two pressing sessions per day: working in the morning, then hardcore skiing, few more hours in the late afternoon and then parting in the night...

Pictures coming soon...

Was this an isolated event? Does anything like this take place in the PNW region? I'm sure there would be plenty of interest (me for one) :)
