I like ScottyBobs' top sheet designs. His theory about his ski design sure is different. A little disappointed they're made in China... Perhaps that pays the bills so he can custom make skis....

I like the Sterling skis.

There's some info in the forum on Wagner skis. Someone had a pair that broke. Looked like the core was made of foam with carbon fiber. Not a fan of foam when you have wood available. And IMO super light skis are just that super light, I don't see a huge advantage to a super light ski unless you're hiking. I guess it all depends on what you're looking for.

This could be under it's own Forum index. Maybe suggest it to skibuilders.

I think this is a great idea! Something like a "The Art of The Start" index where you could share your progress/set backs, do´s and don´ts of starting your own ski/snowboard business. I would surely appreciate it (but I´m biased) since I plan to start my own business in the beginning of next year (2011) I actually thought about starting a post where I document every step and € ($) from registering a company, getting tools, designing, manufacturing the first prototypes, to the first sale. I think it´s going to be really interesting to see how much time and money it will take to actually make the first sale? And even more interesting to see how long before breaking even and actually making some profit (if any ) It´s gonna be a bumpy ride for me I guess, but still it´s the journey that counts and not the destination right? So is anybody all in to share the dirt of starting a ski/snowboard company?

Ps. I stole the index title from Guy Kawasaki´s book "The art of The Start ". Highly recommended X-mas reading.
