Snowboarding in South America

Hey guys,
My girlfriend and I are planning a trip to South America for early fall. This forum is pretty diverse so I figured some people would have experience riding in SA. We are planning to do a week in Chile and a week in Argentina.
Any suggestions of places to go or places to stay away from? We are on a bit of a budget, so any good cheap places would be awesome.
