How about using carpet tape on the top of the base to locate and hold the cut pieces? I use it to hold the tip fill in place. It is a weave type tape and allows epoxy to get in all around it. It is inside the layup and won't leave indentations. Only concern I would have is I would not want to have the tape extending beyond the edge of the ski.

What better way to prepare for a ski trip than making new skis for the trip!

Give me a shout if you get over this way.
Skiing's pretty good considering we haven't had any new snow for weeks.

You don't even have a legit signature, nothing to reveal who you are and what you do...

Best of luck to you. (uneva)

I'm gonna be hunting for pow with my brother.
We land in Kelowna on feb 25th then we have 2 weeks to find the goods, Original plan is to spend a week in Nelson/Kootenay Pass + a week in Revelstoke/Rogers Pass but if the snow is somewhere else we'll go there !
I'll let you know if we get close to Fernie !

Ben, I use clear contact paper on my bases. I find this contains most of the epoxy that seeps around the edges. This also might help keep your die cuts in place when combined with the medipore tape. This should minimize epoxy on your bases too.

The adhesive on contact paper is not as sticky as packing tape and pulls off the base easily after pressing.

Might be worth a try.

Vin -» Yes that's exactly my thinking. I said packing tape because that's what I have on hand and I didn't remember the "contact paper" wording in english :p.
Where do you source your contact paper ?

Not yet but shipping for such a "cheap" product is gonna kill me (shipping's never free to Canada !).. sourcing it locally might end up cheaper but I'll check anyways.
