Importing more Bamboo Cores and Veneer... Want some???

Post by Slant » Thu Jun 05, 2014 8:06 am

Hi,
I have been importing Moso Bamboo Ski Cores and Veneer from a manufacturer in China for several years now with great results. This Bamboo is sustainably harvested and great quality for building skis or whatever you want. This bamboo is one of the only non US made ingredients in my skis (you cannot buy domestically grown structural bamboo). This year I have decided to try and share this deal with fellow ski builders.

I can get this bamboo way cheaper than anyone selling from in the US.

I won't ship the bamboo, so these prices are for you picking up from me in Tahoe or you can meet me at the customs warehouse in Oakland the day of delivery.

I will be placing the order around 6/20 and I usually receive the order less than 2 months later. Here is what I can get:

Bamboo veneer, carbonized or natural color
Size: 2500mm x 430mm x 0.3mm
Horizontal grain: $9 / sheet
Vertical grain: $9 / sheet (no tax, includes shipping to Tahoe or Oakland)
Backed with cellulose, bonds well and can handle high temps

Bamboo plywood, vertical grain, 1 ply, carbonized or natural
Size: 1828mm x 1220mm x 12.5mm
$86.00/sheet (no tax, includes shipping to Tahoe or Oakland)

Both natural and carbonized are great for cores. Natural is a little stronger and carbonized is a little lighter in my experience(very small differences). The bamboo is vertically laminated with waterproof glue and ready to cut into cores as-is. Notice the length of the sheets is about 6'. I find this makes for less waste and is less expensive. I get 8 or 9 cores per sheet depending on ski width.

I would like at least an $86 min order. This bamboo lumber company that I have been working with can and does manufacture any type of bamboo lumber but this is usually what I order. I can do a custom order for you and be your middleman, but you would have to order a lot and make it worth my time. Although I am sure I would still be you cheapest option for any type of bamboo lumber.

I am not really making any profit off this. Ordering more sheets helps lower my costs and hopefully I will be helping some of you..

Ask any questions here and pm me to place an order.

I can accept paypal (you pay the fees), Credit Cards, Money Order, Cashiers Checks, Cash in person...

Thanks!

I sent you a PM but lately they don't seem to go through. I'm down for a sheet of natural plywood. I'll stop by with some dough for you. Thanks for hooking it up.

I am still offering this deal, but the prices have gone up slightly. I import this bamboo about twice a year. I can get ANY type of bamboo lumber. Unless you are local I will require a minimum order for my trouble. Thank you.
