Edge & base compatability

Post by Bambi »

Just a quick question:

Does the thickness of the base material have to correspond to the dimension of the edges that you have?

It would seem that the distance that the edge hangs down when glued to the base should be the same dimension as the base thinkness so that they end up being flush at the bottom. is this correct or am I missing something? If so what is the most common dimension used - i would like to start sourcing some materials?

Thanks in advance

I don't have the exact dimensions with me (~1.2mm, if I remember correctly) , but the base material and edge profile should be close. They don't have to be exact, since after a grinding the base should be flat. If you order from durasurf or snowboard materials, it is pretty much standard thickness.
