Fire Hose

Post by bcj »

Does anyone know of a place to find new or used 6" fire hose at a reasonable price. We have a few local places in town with 4" fire hose at about $5 per foot, but I have not been able to find 6" in Anchorage.

Thanks

You might try talking to a fire department, or if you have any friends who are fire fighters. I have a friend working on getting me some used fire hose. The fire departments have to get rid of their hose if it has any frays in it and from my understanding they just throw it away. Apparently the hoses are okay for use still, they just have surface damage that makes them unsuitable by the safety standards.

checking into it

I've checked around with our local fire departments. So far they have given me a bit of the run around, but hopefully I'll get a chunk soon. If you happen to get a source I'd like to get 10' of 5" hose.

Cheers
