Curious how many builds everyone has done...

27 boards built in 3 years at it and I'm wondering how we rate against the veterans that have been building for a while?

How many boards/skis have you built and how long have you been at it?

...and what kind of press are you using? We're still on the vacuum press but its working well for us.

-Cheers :D

I've made 15 pairs of skis. I made my first skis in December 2009. Wow, didn't think it was that long ago! I use a pneumatic press.

I'm on 1/2 of one pair, or One full 1/2 pair of skis depending on how you look at it. I'm just building one ski for now for practice and have the materials ready to go for a full pair all except for the vacuum pump.
Full core, pre-bent tips tails on pine with bamboo sidewalls for the test.
Hopefully it'll be good enough to convince the girlfriend that I can build skiiable skis.

I've done something like 15-17 pairs, I'm having a hard time remembering some of the pairs I didn't ski on much. About two thirds have been for myself. I've always had a pneumatic press.

I built like 5 boards in 1989-90 and then started building again in 2010. About 10 boards and 20 pairs of skis so far. Vaccum.

18+1/2 pair since 2008.
All vacuum.

Wow, that's a fair chunk of $ when you stop to think about it.
Once I'm done hemorrhaging money on the new shop I'll build a pneumatic press. If the bleeding ever stops :(

You don't even have a legit signature, nothing to reveal who you are and what you do...

Best of luck to you. (uneva)

That's pretty f'in cool, I took an average of the 10 responses so far and we have built 298 boards and/or skis between us.

Pat yourself on the back everyone, that's impressive!

Now if we can just combine our talents, we may have a profitable future?

Thanks all, good thread.

Since 2009 I've built 17 pr. Just ordered 10 topsheets from Miller, and have two more that pulled the trigger this w/e.
If I could just make enough skis to make this thing a break even prospect. Hahahahahahahahahahhahahahaahhaaaaaaaaaa.....
