DrillSki (as distinct from Shot Ski !!)

Post by richie »

Hi, well in the true spirit of being a part geek and lazy as well, I've decided on a tool to make my life easier and hopefully others.

I'm sure a lot of us use downloaded templates for marking out and drilling skis for binding mounting, well why not combine all of that knowledge and IP into a database online and make sure it never disappears and gets added to as new hole patterns emerge.

And then make it spit out custom PDF , DXF or GCODE so you can mark out by hand or if you have cnc and are brave enough then direct drill your skis perfect every time.

Check it out here https://github.com/splitn2/DrillSki feel free to contribute with ideas specifications and possibly code. You'll need to sign p on GitHub, while you're at it get stuck into MonkeyCAM and SnoCAD-X too and help enhance them.

If you're happy with paper and scriber and punch thats all good , but I expect some of you will see some benefit in this project if we can get something up and running.

Enjoy!

cheers
Rich

Excellent idea.. You could probably use it for a shot ski also.
I am nobody. Nobody's perfect, so I must be perfect.
