Fontaine 1400 for sale (new Pics) SOLD

Post by skimann20 »

Hello all,
I bought a "new" ski grinder and I'm going to let go of my Fontaine 1400. The tool hoarder in me wants to keep it because it works so well but the finance department (aka wife) says its gotta go.

Precision ground steel platen grinding surface and rubber contact wheel for the flattest possible base grind.
Comes with 2 steel plates; 1 for beveling (concaved), and 1 for smooth flat base grind. Both plates are in the pictures.
The motor runs super smooth, I replaced the capacitor last winter and fires up without hesitation.
Tracking adjustment works great.
14" x 80" quick release belt with outboard bearings on both drive idler wheels. Will be sold with several bets of different grits.
High flow coolant system with positive filtration (comes with two filters). I replaced the spray bar two years ago and it is in excellent shape. spray gun also in good shape.
Bearing are all in great shape, I've been very diligent about greasing them.
Has a new rubber "thingy" that keeps the spray from the belt down to a minimum.

this grinder is bomb proof.

Dimensions (40" 1." x 25"w. x 40" h.) 230 volt, single power, weights around 400lbs.

other info:
It does have surface rust (no rot), this thing could use a good wire wheel cleaning and repaint. Front left straight wheel has been tweaked since I've bought it but has not affected use.

I'd be willing to ship it, but buyer pays/arranges for shipping. I can pallet it for additional cost.

If I don't sell it this year then I'll most likely repaint it in the spring and list it again.

more photos to come...

Bumping this one back to the top. I ended up not selling it last year and using it. Now the "CFO" wants it gone... so... back up for sale!

I did not overspray this... the previous owners did. such a small piece of tape could have prevented this...
