Pre bending tips and tail before lay up
If you are prebending the tips and tails, What is the best way of achieving this, and if using heat do you use moisture to assist with the bending process, as I find my tips and tails at 2mm thickness appear to be not flexiable enough to curve in the mould.

Boiling water is fine. Cook tips for few minutes, than bend them.

Hot tap water is not really enough: wood loose some bending afterwards.

Just my 2cents,
I used to build guitars and bent my guitar sides using cold water and rolling them on a heated aluminium cylinder, and they never release their set.
As I am in process on building my first pair of skis, I plan to put the tip in water (hot at the beginning) half an hour , put in it on the mold to get the set, and dry it with an air gun.
