not sure how long it really took.....but most work in probably 6 weeks. but pressing one ski at a time with a single heat blanket definitely made it much longer than it needed to be.knightsofnii wrote:you did that in a month? awesome!!
I cant wait until we get into it full-bore, we only have five different shapes so we're hoping to bang out like 30+ boards by mid october.

haha thats awsome! How have those bamboo sidewalls been holding up? have you had any durability problems compared to standard plastic sidewalls? I have been thinking of switching to bamboo due to some delamination problems I have been having during routing with p-tex side walls. check out my journal if you have any tips/ suggestions.
they will work ok i think. Mainly trying to dial in shapes, flex, and rocker, so didn't want to deal with the issues of bonding sidewalls.jlutz05 wrote:haha thats awsome! If i am able to get myself into a position to start producing these, though, I will be switching to plastic if that says anything.
Everything is looking great!!!!
What are you doing in terms of finishing/grinding/structuring your bases?
Whenever I take a new pair into a ski shop they never grind off enough of the bases/epoxy to totally flatten them. I guess it's a good thing that they err on the conservative side when grinding away base material.

bases are belt and then stone ground in a shop I trust.jono wrote:Everything is looking great!!!!

Have not had any issue getting them flat thus far. hopefully soon enough I will be grinding them myself.
