as far as offsetting the cost of materials,
if you've got your processes nailed then go for it!
if not, just be prepared for it to drain your wallet for a while before some nice sale quality boards come out.. But dont get discouraged, consider it as putting yourself through ski/board building college , and those first few sales receipts are your masters degree .
