that does suck.
my local shop was so cool they let me spend hours and basically taught me how to do it.
then I found a machine and i now avoid bad mistakes.

Before I got my grinder I took a few homemade skis to Sturts in Bellevue, and they thought it was so cool that I was making my own skis, they ground them for free (but I was only having them belt grind them to flatten the bases, no tuning)
