So, cores are milled

In the making:

Tip spacer:

Hardpoint for the binding:

There will be an additional layer of fiberglass in the pocket between hard wood and balsa.

Weight of the core with hardpoints is 530g for 150/124/132 x 1890mm. 580 with tip and tail spacers. How much does one of your cores weight?

Epic fail: printed the wrong version of the design which wasn't mirrored and realized it just now when it is too late to redo the whole story...

My current set of cores weigh in at 3330g total with ash stringers and ipe wood sidewalls un-shaped. This set of cores are way heavier than normal.

I like your idea of cutting out a piece for the hardwood insert. Nice touch.

That's how it's recommended by Bcomp. Either mill a pocket and put hard wood or a cotton/phenolic resin plate in there, or just use an additional sheet of titanal.

Ok, finished them this weekend. Need to get the base sanded and mount a binding. I'm pretty happy how they turned out for the second pair.

1800g a ski, just 10g weight difference between the two. flex seems to be pretty good. maybe a little too stiff in torsion for such a powdergun.

Are you referring to the sidewalls? they are made of European beech. works well so far and was used by others before.

They look great
The backwards logo topsheet actually looks really cool. Everyone would think you did it on purpose.

Did you paint the sidewalls blue?

Yes, painted the sidewall. I used acrylic paint where I added quite a bit of water. Then I painted everything and whipped it of after a few minutes with a paper towel. So it's blue but the wood grain is still visible.
I like the looks, but I have to say its not very durable. There are already some lighter spots on the sidewall... The wood itself looks still good though!
