Core Shift Solutions?

During my first ski pressing I was too excited to take my time and keep everything aligned. My core shifted so there is about a 1/4" gap on one sidewall. My next ski came out right on. I put spray adhesive on the aluminum sheet to keep the base from moving and then glue gunned a paint stir stick to the sidewall and nailed it to the mold, just to the side of the aluminum and heat blanket. This kept everything in place nicely. I was thinking of just filling the gap in the sidewall with epoxy and maybe some fiberglass and seeing how it holds up. Has anyone had any luck doing this or are there better ideas?
